BERNAS helps provide a dependable path forward by supporting paddy procurement, drying, milling, and processing across key granary areas. Through its role as Government-appointed Buyer of Last Resort and in administering the Paddy Price Subsidy Scheme, BERNAS helps support farmer livelihoods while strengthening the local rice supply Malaysians depend on.

Managing the National Rice Stockpile

Rice is an everyday essential, but continued availability requires preparation. BERNAS has been entrusted with managing and safeguarding the Government’s national rice stockpile, with reserves stored across facilities to support emergency supply, domestic market continuity, and national preparedness.
